Restoring dignity, strengthening resilience, and building safer communities — one person at a time.
Vaal Community in Action is a registered non-profit organisation focused on delivering comprehensive victim empowerment programmes and ongoing psychosocial support to both survivors and perpetrators of Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
We are committed to promoting healing, empowerment, and social change within vulnerable communities across the Vaal region — through a holistic, community-centred approach that addresses social, emotional, psychological, and economic challenges.
We believe that sustainable change can only be achieved through meaningful interventions that empower individuals while strengthening the community systems that surround them.
We provide a range of professional social work interventions and community development approaches tailored to the diverse needs of the communities we serve:
Casework services — individualised psychosocial support and counselling for each person's unique situation.
Group work programmes — safe spaces for healing, peer support, and building healthier relationships.
Community work initiatives — awareness campaigns, prevention efforts, and community mobilisation.
Sustainable livelihood projects — the Sebokeng food garden and skills training to address poverty and food insecurity.
Every person we serve is treated with unconditional respect, compassion, and care — regardless of their circumstances.
We create physically and emotionally safe spaces where people can speak freely, heal, and find support without fear.
We walk alongside people — not in front of them. Our goal is to build strength from within communities.
All support is provided with strict confidentiality. Your privacy is protected at every step of your journey with us.
We invest in lasting change — building skills, systems, and community networks that endure long after our direct support.
Working with over 20 partners — government, NPOs, schools, and institutions — to provide holistic, connected support.
